Bridgeman, in the House of Commons, stated that coal imported into Britain 'since April 1 was as follows:—From America 335,000 tons; France 430,000, and Belgium 395,000. HOUSE OF LORDS.. LONDON, June 27.—Air Chamberlain, in the House of Commons, said that it was impossible this session to introduce legislation providing for the reconstruction of the House of Lords. The Government hoped to submit proposals early next session. GERMAN FINANCE. Recd. 10 a.m. BERLIN, June 27.— The, Reichsbank, till July 3, is exchanging German and foreign gold, offering 300 paper marks for a twenty mark gold piece, and 42,500 paper marks for a kilogram of fine gold. SILESIA. BERLIN, June 26.—1 t is semi-officially announced that the Inter-Allied Commission has approved of the proposed conditions for the evacuation of Upper Silesia by the Polish insurgents and the German “Self-Defence” organisations. The evacuation is to be completed by July 5. RAILWAY DISASTER. Recd 1.30 p.m. DELHI, June 27.— An accident occurred to the Moradabani train to Delhi, whilst crossing a bridge which collapsed, and precipitated the train into a flooded river. Fifty passengers are missing, and were probably drowned. Those in the back carriages escaped. PROHIBITION. Recd. 10 a.m. NEW YORK, June 27.— Air A. D. Van Buren has announced his resignation as chief counsel for the Federation Prohibition Commission. On being interviewed, he said that th ecountry was drifting tcMafds Prohibition and anarchy, and unless calm and sane judgme'nt displaced popular excitement and hysteria, all respect would be lost for the Volstead Enforcement Law, which carries things to an extreme.
