BOXING
NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. DECIDED IN GREYMOUTH NEXT YEAR. (13y “Looker-on.”) Mr. Chris. Nissen (President of the Greymouth Boxing Association), who represented the local Association at the annual conference held in Hastings today, wired' just as this paper was going to press'that he had been .successful in securing next year’s championships to be decided in Greymouth.
The news conveyed by Mr. Nissan's wire will be received with satisfaction throughout the West Coast, and the Greymouth Association are to be congratulated on the result.
The fact of the Championships being decided in Greymouth., means that anything from £0 to ICO boxers, together with representatives from all the Associations in the Dominion will visit Greymouth. This year, which is the first occasion on which the championships have been decided since the commencement of the recent War, the total entries number 54, and by this fim° n°xt year these should be nearly doubled.
