PHASES OF THE MOON—FEBRUARY.
THE SUN. The sun sets to-day at 6.54 p.m. ; rises to-morrow at 5.35 a.m. THE MOON. The moon sets to-day at 8.54 p.m. ; rises to-morrow at 11,12 a.m. LOCAL REPORT. The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 72 degrees, and tlie minimum 43 degrees. The barometer registered 29.90, and the’ therinometei 68 degrees. For the past month the rainfall was 11.56 inches, compared .nth 3.53 inches for the corresponding month of last year. WEATHER REPORT. Greymonth.—Wind, north-east, 1 iglit breeze; barometer, 29.90; thermometer 53 degrees; tides, moderate; bar, slight sea. WEATHER FORECAST. The indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale and backing by south to east. Weather cloudy to overcast. Heavy rain is to be expected. Barometer falling, but rising after about 24 to 36 hours. Tides good and sea considerable.
