CLASS D BALLOT, POSTPONED TILL FEBRUARY. (J?er Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Owing to tile postponement of the January and subsequent drafts, the first ballot for Class D men will noU now be taken till February, so that men in this class will concentrate at the earliest in June.

The recruiting position is very strong. Drafts up to and l including March are up to strength. The First Division voluntary recruits and appellants whose appeals were dismissed unconditionally will therefore be given leave till the draft concentrating at the end of April.

Second Division appellants similarly dealt with will have leave till the draft at the end of May.

SOLDIERS' WORKSHOPS

TENDERS LET

WELLINGTON, This Day. Tenders have been accepted by the, Government for the erection of four workshops for soldiers under treatment at Rotorua.

The first building will have accommodation and fitting's for electrical work, saddlery, splint-mak-ing and handicraft. The second will have provision for bootmaking, tailoring, cigar-ette-making, hairdressing, plastercastmakiug and photographic studio.

The third will contain carpentry and basketmaking shops. The fourth structure will house blacksmiths, acetylene welders, painters and enamelling shops. The approximate cost of the four structures is £3OOO.
