MUNITION WORKERS.
' A SERIOUS DISPUTE. APPEAL TO PATRIOTIC WORKERS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) Received This Day, 11.30 a..m. LONDON, July 22. The Ministry of Munitions states that a mass meeting at Birmingham threatened to down tools on the 24th, unless the Ministry, withdraws the embargo on the employment of skilled workers. Meanwhile, negotiations are proceeding at Coventry. The Minister points out that he could not carry on the supply of munitions without an embargo on certain cases and without reasonable powers to distribute skilled workers accovdintr to the. vital war needs. The Ministry has issued a proclamation at Coventry, Birmingham, and Manchester, declaring that the dispute is not an ordinary one, but an attempt to overthrow the policy of the Stats. The stoppage will injure our cause. It is one of the most critical battles of the war. The Ministry- calls on all patriotic workers to remain at work.
