J Tlie Okarito bar has unexpectedly improved, and it is expected that the Paeroa will get out when the sea moderates. The steamer loads for Bruce Bay and Okuru on arrival here. MR. L. F, DE BERRY. A combined farewell will be tendered at the Town Hall to Mr. L. F. do Berry, by the Oversea Club, School Committee, and All Saint’s Church. Tlie gathering will be held on Tuesday next at 7.30 o’clock. PAINFUL ACCIDENT. A voting lad named Jack Myers, son of Mi. J. Myers, of Cemetery Hill, who has been staying with Mr. P. Jones at Upper Kokatahi, gashed his left leg above the ankle yesterday afternoon with an axe. He was brought into town by motor car to Dr. Teichelmann. who had to put seven stitches in. The lad is now doing as well as can be expected. COPPER TRAIL. The public meeting a ranged to take place last, night, in connection with the Copper Trail, has been postponed until a later date, which will be announced. CORRESPONDENCE.
