Saturday afternoon, and a splendid competition resulted. Several of the games were very closely contested, and a pleasing feature of the play was the good form shown by the younger players, some of whom should develop, with practice and experience, into first-class players. The final, which was won by Misses Barrowman and Tenneiri, was noteworthy for the fine form shown by tbe winners, who played cosistently well throughout the game. The various games resulted as tollows: — FIRST ROUND. Mrs Fletcher and Miss Kettle (scr.) beat Miss Lowe and Miss V. Wickes (owe 5), 40—23. Mrs Handle and Miss C.
