TRENCH COMFORT FUND.
The Irencli comfort parcels to be seen in the window of the Lady Liverpool Depot this week will, we are sure, remind tlio public of the big day at the Helping Hand Simp on Saturday next, September 29th when the Trench Comfort. Committee, will be in chadgc. They arc working hard and expect to a. great number of entries for the cooking competition. There being no special districts allotted for that day, everyone is asked to kindly donate some small article to help this most noble work. That these parcels arc received with much gratitude in the trenches is proved by the hundreds of messages written by the boys themselves. One man says: “Ripping good parcel. Please send another soon. We shall keep up our end of the stick. 'Parcel contained handkerchief sox, tin of milk, tin of cheese, soap, writing paper, and bootlaces.”. Should all remember on Saturday next that it is more blessed to give than receive the, takings should he a, record one.
