MEMORIAL HANDICAP' WON BY SLEIGHT OF HAND.

OTAKI, September 24. The Otaki Spring Meeting was held in overcast weather, the going being heavy. Following are the remaining results:—
STEEPLES, 2J miles.—Coalition (10.3) 1, Union Jack (9.7) 2, Gaekwar (9.7) 3. Also started—Arlington, Bodenham, Sabrenui, Fashion Plate, Pawerewere, Miss Gun and Waitoa. Won by two lengths. Time 4.48 1-5.
TE ONE MEMORIAL HANDICAP, of 400 sovs. ; 1," miles.—Sleight of Hand (8.4) 1, Ladv Louisa (8:1) 2, Orleans (7.11) 3. Also started—Goldstream, Maid O'Gowrie, Undecided and Master Strowan. Won by a length. Time 2.15 3-4. STEWARDS' HANDICAP, 6 furlongs —Bloomine (8.3) 1, Perrier (8.9) 2. Trickery (7.13) 3. Also started— Goldbearing and Holyhead. Won by a length and a half. Time 1.18. PLYING HANDICAP, 6 furlongs— Merrie I'oto 1, Sweet Tipperary 2, Bairnsdale 3. Also started —Lady General," Menelaus, Square Deal, Crowhurst, Kiltess, Bradamante, Trentham Rose. Borsil and Glorify. Won by a length. WELTER HANDICAP, 7 furlongs. —Thoughtful (9.12) 1. Amity (8.3) 2. Also started—lJastie, Sartoline, Sir William, Elevate and Puncha. Won by a length.
