The Poherua arrived last night and sails for Diumdin and Bluff t.o-night, coal laden. The Kakapo is due from Wellington to-night and will load eoal and timber for Lyttelton. The Map;mrika leaves Welliif,ton td".lay for coast ports and is due iinv Thursday morning. She will sail nil return at: midnight on Thursday. The Kowhai j> due from (hieliunga on Thursday, and loads coal for Dunedin. The Waimea sailed yesterday for Westport to !'>ad coal for Nelson. Tiie Alexander leaves Wellington to-day foi Nelson, Westport and tireymouth. She is due here on Thursday evening and on discharge of inward cargo loads limber and coal for Nelson. The Regains is due to-morrow evening from Wanganui in ballast. She loads coal for the s;uue port. The Opouri is due to-morrow night from Lyttelton. The Orepuki is due from Lyttelton on Saturday. Messrs VV. A. Eutwisle and P. C. Ross, second and extra officers respectively of the Kaituna, have signed off that vessel. Mr. L. G. Smart has signed on the Pa teen a as purser in place of Mr. R. V. Dickey who has gone to Auckland to join the Flora. Mr. W. J. Jnquiery, late of the Mararoa, has joined the Moeraki as assistant purser. Mr. J. A. Owen, chief engineer of the s.s., 'Nikau, has gone ashore.

Captain R. Hart, mate of the Putiki, has taken charge of the vessel in place of Captain W. Wnhlstrom, who has gone ashore on special business. Mr. A. J. Holm has signed on as mate.
