ADDINttTON STOCK MAKIitT. KEEN COMPETITION FOR STORE SHEEP. CHRISTCHURCH, February 21. Messrs Matson and Co, report as follows respecting yesterday's sale : Fat Cattle. —There was afenedium yarding, of whicjh the quality was poor. Prices for" best lots were equal to last week, and finished lots were decidedly oasier. Best steers brought from £l9 to £22 2s -6d, medium £l6 to-'£lß, best heifers to £l6, medium £ll to £l4; best cows £ls, ordinary £lO to £l2. Fat Sheep.—There was a 'medium market, and the quality was, indifferent; prices were equal to last week and generally in excess of freezing prices. Prime wethers 35s to 39s 6d, medium 30s to 33s 6d lighter sorts 27s 6d to 30s.'ewes (litest) 32s to 375; medium 28s to 31s 6d ; lighter sorts 24s to 27s 6d.
