After riotously destroying- a pushcart and peddlers’ stocks of vegetables a hundred Ghetto women with babies demonstrated .at the City Hall Park, demanding that the Mayor reduce the prices of foodstuffs. Tire police arrested the ringleader. Ihe women unsuccessfully attempted a. rescue, but the police scattered them after the Mayor had promised to receive a deputation to-morrow.
