WEDDING BELLS.

GANDELL—HOLDER, A wedding which attracted a considerable amount of lueal interest was solemnised at St. Paul's Methodist Clitnch ',<> day, when the liev. K. D. I'atchett united in the bonds of holy wedlock Rena, youngest daughter of 'Mrs Charles Holde , of Cou-pei- Street, to Mr Norman (landed, mariKgci of Messrs Hallenstcin Bnor.' Reefton branch, and second son of Mrs W. Gandell, of Shakespeare Street. Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, a very large gathering of relatives and friends of this deservedly popular young couple were present to witness the ceremony. The bride, who was eiven awav by her eldest brother, Mr G. C. of Wellington, was attired in <a handsome cream silk bengaiine, and wore a handsome embroidered veil and carried a beautiful shower bouquet, and was supported as bridesmaids by her sisters, Misses Clara and Eva Holder_ who wore champagrre crepe-de-chene dresses, with brown ninon hats trimmed with pink cherries and also carried pink bouquets. Trie bridegroom was attended bv Mr H. Lusty as best man and r Mr Walter Holder as groomsman.

After the ceremony had been performed an adjournment was made to the residence of the. bride's mother, where a dainty repast was p-.rtaken of and the toasts' customary to such occasions duly honored. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a set of ebony and silver-hacked military and clothes brushes and the bridegroom's present to til" bride a beautiful pearl pendant, and to each of the bridesmaids a gold bangle.

The kjmpy couple, who were Ihe recipients'of many beautiful and costly presents, left by the afternoon train for' Otira en route- lo Dunedin,- carrying with them the esteem and goodwill and best wishes for their future happiness of their many friends and acquaintances.
