A COMBINATION PROTECTION.

FOR MILITARY USE

The combination protector, testament, letter, and money-carrier provides an essential and safe means of carrying a man's cherished letters, testament, diary, money, fountain pen, notepaper and writing requisites. The protection, which has been recommended and endorsed by military officrs and medical men, consists of two tempered steel plates, that will divert and arrest missiles, resist a bayonet thrust, deflect bullets and shrapnel splinters. Many lives have been saved in the present war by bullet and shrapnel slpinters being deflected from razors, tobacco tins, military buttons, and by lodging in testaments and wallets. It can well be conceived then what a wonderful measure of protection is afforded by this combination heart protector. It is of paramount importance to every soldier, as it protects the vital organ, and thereby gives an additional chance of life. The heart protector is worn by being attached to tho braces, so are the combination heart and lung protectors, with the addition of a neck strap. Those who have tested both the heart and combined protectors, declare that the convex steel plates fit so comfortably that the knowledge of anything additional being carried soon vanishes. The weight is a negligible factor in comparison with the chief consideration of the device, and feeling of security and usefulness which is afforded. The invention is primarily intended as a lifo saver in actual warfare, with the additional advantages already stated. The tempered steel plates can be removed during training operations, as the construction admits of this, and the carrier or pocket worn as a convenient holder of letters, photographs, ■ money and writing requirements. They arc now on sale at A .E. Kilgour's, Mawhcra Quay, who has secured the agency for the Grey district. Tho prices for the single heart protector range from 9s 6d to 17s 6d each. The combined heart and lung protectors (complete, with neck strap) range from 20s to 36s per pair.
