A REPORT WANTED.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —In a letter, which appeared in your paper about.two weeKs ago, I pointed out that the commercial .department of the (jrieyinouth Technical" School had never issued a report during the past twelve months, and I further stated that, in my opinion, this department required a considerable shaking up. Notwithstanding this publicity, the parents are still without any inlormation regarding the progress of the children, and I am again publishing these facts in the hope that the Education Board (the controlling body) wilj take official notice of the matter. At the end of each term the commercial instructor promised to send out progress reports. In September last a circular, signed by Mr. l\ F. Daniel, acting director, was sent round stating that, owing to the absence of an instructor on holiday, the reports were delayed but would lie sent out in the course of a few days. That instructor must have had a long holiday, for the reports are still amongst the missing. Where, also, are the results of the last annual examination which was held in December? Notwithstanding that a local paper, in a leading article, recently used the paper on English set at this examination as an example of the bad state of existing education, ' still, I am sure the parents of the commercial pupils expect, and have a right . to receive, a report. We, of course, I know that the examination was only a jj school examination, the papers being set and corrected by the commercial , master; but even so I, for one, should like to know the results. Needless to say, I ain removing my child from the school. lam etc., DISAPPOINTED PATER.
