INANGAHUA TROTTING CLUB.

COMMITTEE'S REPORT.

The Committee's report to the members at the forthcoming annual meeting : In presenting the annual report, we have to offer you our congratulations upon the success, scored by the Club during the past season. The annual meeting was held on November 25th, 1914, when the weather was very boisterous and wet in the morning' However, there being a large number of visitors, and a greater number of visiting horses present than usual, the Stewards decided to go on with the meeting, and, as the weather improved as the afternoon wore on, the wisdom of their decision was borne out. The inclement weather, however, militated against a large attendance of the public, and the gate and grandstand, receipts show a slight falling off as compared with the meeting of the previous year. The totalisator investments also were slightly less than in 1913. This can no doubt be accounted for by the unfavourable weather. The receipts from nomination and acceptances show a considerable increase, being £7O lis 6d in excess of the amount of the previous year, while the competition at the sale of privileges was very keen, and the popularity of the meeting was evinced by the high price realised (£57).

The l-aces for the various events were good and the finishes fairly close, and the conduct of the meeting was favourably commented upon by the Stipendiary Steward, G. E. Perkins, Esq., of Greymouth.

Your Committee has applied to the New Zealand Trotting Association for November 24th, 1915, as the date of the annual meeting, and hope that this will meet with the approval of members.

The Club is in a good financial position, having at the Post Office Savings Bank the sum of £52 6s and a credit balance at the Bank of New Zealand, Limited, of £45 16s Id. This year's transactions did not, however, allow of an yaddition being made to the deposit in the Post Office Savings Bank.

' The racing track has had some improvements made during, the year, and further repairs to both track and fencing are now in progress. The Club's membership continues good, standing at the same number as last year. The nominations for the offices are as follows : President.-—J. B. Discaciati, J. McPadden. Vice-President.—P. Cohen.
