POLLARD'S PICTURES
All the ingredients that make dramas so popular were used in "Shorty's Trip to Mexico," the star feature of the new pro gramme projected before a large and evidently more than satisfied audience, at the Opera, House last night. Thrilling situations, narrow escapes, a charming love story, villainy defeated and virtue rewarded were all welded together into a harmonious whole. The Keystone comedy "Such a Cook" proved an excellent lonic, the "German Fleet at Kiel" was unusu ally interesting. The latest war topical showed scenes from the firing line, while the dramas, "The Ward's Claim" and "The Poor Relation," and the industrial study all received generous applause. This programme will be repeated to-night in conjunction with the scond instalment of the remarkable serial drama, "The Trey o' Hearts." The usual Sunday display will be given to-morrow, for which an excellent series of subjects has been chosen. The star feature is a powerful story of politics and. love in America, produced under the title of "The Mayor's "Secretory." The other dramas are a Lubin original work on■C -titled "The Hopeless Game," and an A.K. pathetic tale. "The Eternal railing." A new .Australian Gazette, and a scenic study will also be shown.
