Frederick Fearce sustained a compound fracture of the leg and the others were severely bruised. FIRE IN PAHIATUA. PAHIATUA, June 30.—Shortly before 6 o'clock to-night a lire was Hscovered in Jayes Bros.' men's outfitters' shop in the mam street. The fire gutted the stock, which was insured for over £SOO, but Jayes Bros, estimate their loss at a good amount. The adjoining tea rooms kept by Misses Harris were affected by smoke and water. There was a small insurance on the stock. Both buildings were owned by Staples and Co.
