MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary meeting of tlic above Council was held at the Council Chambers, Reefton, on Thursday, when there were present : Cr± Meluroe (Chairman), Irving, Dunn, Scaiitlcbiiry, Betts, Bannan, and O'Regan. IF. lav. jemril manager of the Prohibition mine, .u;:l in;r application for the construction of a road from Waiuta-St. George's hor.-y track to the Prohibition main shaft site. —The Engineer was instructed to proceed with the work. A letter from .Mr G. M. Hogben, secretary of the Inbngab.ua Rifle Club, asking for a road to the Reefton rifle range, was referred to the Defence Department. A subsidy of £5 was voted towards the repair of Fletcher's Creek load, and the Engineer was instructed to report on the state of the road, and also on R. T. Allen's application to obtain better access to property in Victory and Ranft Streets. Proposed by Cr Bannan, seconded by Cr Betts, and carried, that further protective works be undertaken at Big Grey.

Messrs Mclnroe and Murray wrote asking for an extension of time for completing the Waitahn bridge on account of the non-delivery of hardwood.—Granted. The Engineer was instructed to report to next meeting on complaint of Mr A. Harrison as to an obstruction in front of his house at Ikamatua. Mr J. Von Stunner's complaint as to the sanitary arrangements at the Post Office was referred back to him to communicate with the Postal Department. The Engineer was instructed to report to next meeting on road to E. J. Pain'? land. Moved by Cr Scantlebnry, second ->d h\ Cr O'Regan, that the Counties Ac:, be amended to enable County Councija io assist associations such as the A. atH P. Association.—The motion was lost, Cr?
