PROCEEDINGS AT KOWHAI,
YESTERDAY’S OPERATIONS
(By Ttfegraph —Special to the Star) KOWHAI, This Day. Yesterday was another busy day in camp. Punctually at 6.15 the bugles sounded lo wake the troops from their slumbers. Soon all was hustle, each section getting their tents tidied up and ready for breakfast, after which all got ready for parade. Each company falls in at 8.15, ready to march to the parede ground at 8.30, the 13th marching out punctually headed by their band, on to the manoeuvring ground where battalion drill and visual training was engaged in during the forenoon. After lunch an attack practice was engaged in. Tim machine gnu section under Lieut. Conway, gre putting in very useful practice. A notable feature in yesterday’s training was the record put up by the 13th Regiment in the issue of rations, viz., for 640 men in the short space of 1 minute 28 seconds. The Canterbury and South Canterbury Regiment arrived in camp yesterday, 16 trucks of horses being detrained inside of 15 minutes. The second regimental band, along with part of 'their unit, also arrived in camp.
