Whittaker (Secretary of the Hukawai Progressive Society), 'drawing attention to the state of footbridge etc., at Hukawai,—Engineer to have work done. From Oscar Brundell asking that a d.iain lie constructed through his .section ■■' Crushington.—Engineer to have work dona* i'iom J. F. Dwyer, requesting access to property at Waiula. —Engineer to report. From \V. H. Saunders and others, requesting that the water-table, Tl'emieiy Stret, Black's Point, be cleaned out. —En gineer to have work done. From Lockington Bros., drawing attention to bad state of road at Boatman's Short Track. —Engineer to prepare plans and specifications and submit to Department, From Clias. J. Green, asking for road to his sections in Block XIII. Reefton S.D.—Engineer to report. From Reuben Trim, Asking Council to take steps to close road through his seclion at Inangahua Junction.—Applicant to be notified that he must bo prepared to pay all costs. From W. A. Rundle ) Secretary Murray's Freehold Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., asking permission to cross Main Grey Road at Mawhcra-iti with a wooden tramway. —Engineer to have work done. From A. J. Palmer, applying for lease of metal reserve of two acres opposite Waimunga.—Not entertained. From McVicar Bros., asking permission to erect swing gates at their properly at Antonio's Flat.—Granted.

From Pascue and Lawn, notifying their intention of giving up their lease of Strand reserve. —Accepted. From Wilson and Reseigh, application for lease of Strand .reserve.—Declined. From West land County Council suggesting an invitation to the Australian Mining Institute to hold their Annual Conference of 1915 on the West Coast. —The Council agreed to fall in with the suggestion. From Commissioner of Crown Lands, stating in regard to a road up Landing Creek, that a report was being obtained upon the matter of the land proposed to be opened fur selection. —It was decided that application be made to -the Minister of Lands for a grant of £3OO for a road. From the Minister of Defence, asking lor suggestions as to what should be done with the conscientious and religious objectors to the Defence Scheme.—No action taken. PUBLIC HALLS. Moved by Mr. Scantlebury, seconded by Mr. Dunne, and carried, "That this Council has for years past petitioned the Government to have an amendment inserted in the Counties Act, giving County Councils similar power to that possessed by .Municipalities with respect to Public Halls, but tile Government has not done so, consequently tiie Council has no power whatever over such Public Halls. The engineer's attention was directed to state of Muuson Street near Ivennings. Moved by Cr. Letts, seconded by Or.
