*'.; WEEKLY MEETING. ' The usual weekly meeting of the Trinity Young Men's Institute was held on Monday evening in the club rooms, the President "occupying the chair.. There was a very 'fair"-'attendance of members, seeing that several were absent owing to their Saving to atted the Territorial Camp in Canterbury. , ; ; ' "it was agreed to accede to the request of the >letaiodist Guild to alter the date of tile senior'debate with that club from April 27th to -May ! 4th. The subject for debate is ''Limited Monarchy w. Republicanism-" trinity taking the affirmative. ■Tlupeam to represent Trinity will be jlessjrs 'Talbot, Bromley, A. Andrews and
Wilson. All "Saints (Hokitika) agreed to May 25th for their senior debate with Trinity in Greypiouth. Messrs de Berry, Hills, Andrews, and Ingram will represent All Saints, '.the subject to be arranged this week. /, It was arranged to hold the postponed opening Trinity social on Friday, May Ist, in the Oddfellows' Hall. .The business of Vtho' evening , was "A Parliamentary Election," and for this candidates of all sorts of political parties came forwardLiberals " Reformers, Labour, Independents 'and Social Democrats, all having their 'supporters. Judging by the manner in which- most of the candidates handled -themselves tihey are keen students of New Zealand politics of the present day. The various speakers provided a most interesting and amusing evening's entertainment.
