ST. PETERSBURG, October 10.

The inteerst of the nation has been aroused in the trial at Kieff of a Jewish youth named Beilish, who is charged with committing a religious murder. The accused, in his statement of defence, protested that he had been in custody .for 26 months without knowing why. He sevt/al times burst into tears.

The defence protested that the accused was not allowed to interview his counsel,, but the judges ruled that an interview was only allowed in circumstances ef extreme urgency. His mother, in her evidence, said that she saw Beilish for the first time on Wednesday. She suspected no one of the murder.

The Conservative and Anti-Semite newspapers violently assail the Judicial authorities, especially the public prosecutor. It contends (hat the charge against Beilis accuses a whole religion of an infamous superstition. However it is advantageous and necessary from a party standpoint to prove the existence of ritual murders.
