POLLARD’S PICTURES

A large and evidently delighted audience greeted the new programme at the Opera House last night. 'The subjects were well selected and varied. Nothing better in its class than “The Escape of the White Star Gang” has been seen here since “Zigomar.” The same bill will be repeated to-night. On Monday a new series will be screened which will include the thrilling drama “The Mystery of the Elk City Bank.” The usual Sun-, day display will be given to-morrow night, when a specially selected programme will be screened. The dramas are “The Redman’s Burden,” “A Timely Rescue,” “The Last Days of Pompeii,” and the star Vitagraph drama “A Woman.” The other pictures are “How to Keep .Fit,” showing our sailors exercising, a scenic study “Through Southern India,” and a new “Warwick Chronicle.” The orchestra will render new selections.
