A DYKE BURSTS

NEW YORK, June 18.
A dyke broke near an Indian village on tile Colorado. River. A great portion of the village was destroyed and some lives lost. The Indians made a great raft of logs and floated it down tse river. They attempted to swing it across a gap. It was a,. perilous expedient and was only partly successful.
