ST. COLUMBA CLUB

The weekly meeting of the above chib was held last evening, a large attendance of members being the most pleasing feature of the evening. ; The subject for the annual debate with Trinity was announced, also the team to represent' the club in the above debate. The club will uphold the affirmative side of the question : “That the present system of industrial unionism is opposed to the best interests of the people.” The team is as follows: Messrs. Gilbert (leader), Smyth, Keating and Doogan. A second team to debate the subject with the above team was also chosen. Four new members were proposed. It was decided to make every effort to induce new members to join, and thus avail themselves of’ the splendid opportunities which the club offers. Next Monday Shakespearean items will be given, and all members are requested to do something in this direction.
