Sir, —I wish in the interests of everyone to enter my protest against tlie ruthless vandalism that is allowed to exist in the scenic and other reserves jli and around (iieymouth. Not only is this permitted <'(< % e Cjuistmas season when men and carts go out into the beauty spots and ruthlessly chop down nikau palms and other beautiful native plants, but at all seasons boys can be detected destroying some of these plants and eating the interiors which are very luscious and refreshing. Surely some steps could be taken to preserve these native plants which are of such value "where they sfand whereas there is such difficulty' in propogating them outside of their own haunts.
