Westport, Wind, south-east, light; barometer. 29.65; thermometer, 53 degrees ; tides moderate; bar moderate. WEATHER FORECASTS. Last evening the Government Meteorologist telegraphed the following weather summary and forecast:—“Barometric pressure has been very unsteady and the weather unsettled. Westerly and southerly winds have predominated with gales in many parts of the country. Snow fell on some of the higher levels in the South on Sunday night. Hail, accompanied by thunderstorms, has also been reported. Present indications are for showery and changeable weather, with electrical disturbances in many parts. Strong southerly winds predominating with a rising barometer but winds will probably back by the west after from twenty-four to thirtysix hours and the barometer fall everywhere. Rev. D. C. Bates wired at noon as follows :

“Westerly moderate to strong winds backing and moderate to strong northerly winds; winds freshening after twenty heaps. Expect showery and changeable weather; glass fall after twenty hours; tides moderate, sea rough, but sea decreasing on the coast soon.”
