The Reform Party Executive have issued a manifesto condemning the attack made by the Hon. G. Fowlds, and Mr. L. M. Isitt upon Mr. Massey in connection with the Massey-Taylor incident. They express the opinion that the statements made are a disgrace to the public life of the Dominion. •The Executive gives an emphatic denial to the statement by Mr Fowlds that after the present election Mr. Massey’s own party is prepared to turn him down as Leader, The Hon. Geo. Fowlds said his statement regarding the Leadership of the Opposition was based on the declaration by Mr. A. L. Herdman, one of the leading members of the Opposition that if Mr. Mass'-y were not returned with a majority he would be manly enough to ~ valid down from his position. Regarding > the Taylor incident Mr. Fowlds recalls that Mr. Massey lastweek went into the Grey Lynn electorate and made a presentation of the case, which in his (Mr. Fowlds) opinion was very far from being comet. He was not the first to introduce the subject and challenged Mr. Massey to point out a single inaccuracy in the statement ho had made.
