WAIHI TIRED OF NO LICENSE,

WAIHI, This Day-
• A meeting of supporters of the local restoration movement held last night was also attended by a large number of nolicense advocates, the building being packed. • . The meeting was addressed by Air Moresby, a solicitor, who organised the Restoration League. At the close a resolution in favour of no license was moved by ano license leader. It was lost. At this stage the no licence portion., of the audience retired, and the following resolution was then put and carried unanimously:—“That this meeting endorses the Mayor’s statement that Waihi received neitheß moral nor materia! 1
under no license; also that it believes the effect of no license has been pernicious to the welfare of the district and tends to lower the morals of the district by the encouragement of deceit and lying- 1 Mr Jordan, a no license agent, attempted several times to address a street audience .after the meeting had closed. He was hustled off his stand several times, but eventually he got a hearing.
