NOTICE TO OCCUPIERS OF SHOPS AND* FACTORIES. rpAKE NOTICE that under the “Legislature Act, 1908,” tne provisions of “The Shops and Offices Act” in respect to the WEEKLY HALF-HOLIDAY shall during this week be deemed to refer to THURSDAY AFTERNOON, that being the Polling Day appointed under the “Legislature Act”—that is to say, that all shop assistants must receive tne half-holiday for the week on that day, and all shopkeepers who are required by the “Shops and Offices Act” to close their shops for the weekly half-holiday must also do so from one o’clock on that day. It is not necessary lor any factory to close during working hours on poll ing day, but all factory employees must be allowed a reasonable time off during working' ll ours for the purpose of recording their votes—such time not to exceed one working hour —no deductions shall be made from the wages of any such employees for the time so occupied.
