FATHER’S TERRIBLE CRIME

MELBOURNE, December 2
Frank Cooling, his wife and throe children were found dead with their throats cut at Kyabram. It is supposed to be a case of murder and suicide. Later. Cooling, was a labourer, a quiet, [harmonising man, who was born in the Kyabram district. Jealousy, quarfgling,' and law proceedings appear to ave had his mind unhinged. Two of the children awoke and Ifound their mother and two brothers, aged eleven and nine, and a six week s old baby dead with their throats cut lying on the floor in one of the rooms. How the other two escaped is remarkable as blood -was splashed on them, and the bloodstained razor was found near Cooling, broken by the force with which it was used.
Cooling was apparently . shaving when the tragedy occurred.
MELBOURNE, This Day. Jealousy is believed to be the cause of the Byabram tragedy. Cooling returned from the country a week, ago and found a man with whom he was unfriendly in the house. A. scene ensued and police courtproceedings followed. Cooling quarrelled with his wife over the circumstances leading to the Court case. Afterwards he became gloomy.
