The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 63 decrees, and the minimum for the night 54 degrees. At nine; o’clock this morning the temperature was : £4 degrees. The" barometer registered 29.69. ’The rainfall for the 24 hours was DM. WEATHER REPORTS. Westport.—Wind, north-east, breeze; barometer, 29.70; thermometer. 55 decrees ; tides moderate; bar considerable. ° Grevmonth. — Wind. .north-east, fresh ; breeze; barometer, 29.52; thermometer, 53 degrees; tides good; bar considerable. WEATHER FORECASTS. The Dominion meteorologist (Mr D. C. Bates) last evening telegraphed the following weather summary and forecast: —“The winds have changed to north and east, and freshened everywhere, with decreasing barometric pressure. The weather has been warm and with increasing cloudiness Present indications are for the development of a westerly storm area, high northerly winds veering to westerly, cloudy and unsettled weather prevailing and rain probable in most parts of the country. The barometer will probably fall everywhere.” ! The Rev. D. C. Bates (Government Meteorologist) wired at noon to-day as follows: — A storm area appears to be approachimr from the westward strong to gale, northerly winds veering to the westerly; expect unsettled and cloudy weather, lain 1 probable, river flooded, glass fall, but i glass rise temporarily after 20 hours -, tides hisjh and sea consilerable.” I “ - -- ■■ II W
