—. . . Hon. Jame s Marshall arrived in town from Wellington to-day. Mr Tom Fogarty has returned to town from a visit to Wellington.

Mr Fred Wells is at present on the Coast in the interests of his firm. Mr Rowe, stationmaster at Moana, is under orders to be transferred to Bvunuei'ton.

Mr and Mrs Adam Wilson returned to town from their honeymoon trip by the Otira express on Saturday night. Mr P .H .Gorton, who represented the local registered accountants at the conference in Wellington, returned to town on Saturday evening.

Mr Tv. N. Vanes, of Dunedin, arrived in Greymouth on Saturday night on business in connection with the construction of the new Presbyterian Church. Mr M. Phillips, sen., who has been confined to his room for the past week, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery, and expects to be able to resume his duties during the present week.

Messrs J .Ryall (Chairman of the Grey Countv Council) and M. Phillips jnn., who have been attending the County Conference in Wellington, returned home on Saturday night. Mr J. W. Eissenhardt, who has been visiting Wellington, returned by the s.s. Alexander to-day. He states that bis father, wlio recently underwent an operation, is getting on splendidly.

Mr Robert Taylor, Town Clerk of Brunnertoh, is confined to his bed through a severe attack of lumbago. We trust to see the genial Bob about again soon.

Mr W. S Percy, the well-known comedian, has been awarded the 25 guineas prize for the best photo-play by the firm of West’s Pictures Limited, Sydney. There were 150 competitors.

W .Huff (chairman of the .Westland County Council), who ha s boori attending the Counties’ Conference atvVellington, wa s a passenger by flic overland express on Saturday night and subsequently left for Hokitika.
