FOR THE CHILDREN.

KING EULOGISES CHILDREN OF LONDON. GIVES A GREAT FETE AT , CHRYSTAL PALACE. k [PER PBESB 'ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, July, ss. The King gave a great children fete at the Chrystal Palace yesterday. His Majesty spent thirty thousand on the fete ,the organisation of which was remarkable. Ninety six trains* from fifty six stations brought the children to the Palace. One thousand children entrained every eight minutes. The whole was divided into nine sections, respectively identifiable by special coloured caps and scarves . Every side show was free. Ten thousand of the youngsters saw "Wild■ Australia," twenty four thousand saw the "All Red Route," fifty thousand the "Marque Imperial," and thirty, thousand the Pavilion.

LONDON, July, 2.—The King, in a message, declared that he and the Queen would ever remember the great gathering of children during the week at Crystal Palace. He felt that London might well be proud of its children. Their eagerness to carry out their instructions and to uphold the credit of their schools, with their marvellous self restraint, argued well for their own and the country's future.
