SYDNEY, This Day. The following is the result of the Ballarat Cup: Bolan 1, Bessemer 2, Sady Hova 3. There were five starters in this race, which was won by two lengths. Time 2.45 2-5. THE RACING COMMISSION. TIMARU, March, 23.—The Racing Commission inspected the Tiinaru racecourse and expressed satisfaction with the appointments. They were particularly interested in the stables and jockeys’ quarters owned by the Club (the only ones so owned in this island) and made many enquiries about them. The Commission had a busy day, travelling by motor cars from Christchurch to Dunedin and on the way inspecting the racecourses between those centres.

WANGANUI TROTS. WANGANUI, March, 23. Tiie sum of £2,206 was put through the tote during the day, compared with £1,584 for the first day last year. A ten shillings tote was also in use.
