There has been serious rioting at the Cambrian Combines, Colliery at Clydach Vale. A mass meeting of the miners • ondemned their Executive for arranging for a b.allot on tho masters’ terms because the British Minors’ Federation had threatened to stop strike pay. The strikers, including many women, marched to the mine, and took possession of it. They rolled boulders from an adjoining hill into the colliery, and tried to set fire to some of the ricks. A body of police assembled and made several charges with armed batons on the rioters, who repulsed them witli stones. Finally a flank attack by the police dislodged the rioters, who fled to tony Pandy. One man was injured and two of the police were seriously injured.
