[per press association—copyright ]
... LONDON, March 22. Rumours are increasing that a compromise on the veto question is. materializing. The Times says that some moderate Liberals put out feelers as to whether a compromise [would be acceptable; also that the Nationalists and Labourites are being sounded as to whether they favor a proposal of a joint Committee to settle deadlocks, provided that the representatives of both .houses are such as to secure the government of the day by a majority, . The Labourites are wrathfully . opposed to the idea.
The Chronicle remarks that these silent negotions have not been encouraged by the support as yet accorded them. The Daily News hopes ‘the Government appreciates the gravity- of allowing breathing space for intrigue,.
