Lovers of the light fantastic are reminded that the Cricketers’ Assembly-will take place to-morrow night in the Cobden Hall.
All those interested in the formation ot a hockey club in Cobden are requested to meet in the schoolroom to-morrow (Friday) night at eight o’clock. t
The usual monthly meeting of b the Westland Engine Drivers’ Union will be held in the Lyceum Hall on Saturday evening next at seven o’clock sharp, Read advertisement. ’ t-K i
A dance in connection with the Cobden Cricket Club will be held in the Cobden Hall to-morrow evening, particulars of which are outlined in an advertisement. A concert in aid of the State Collieries’ Brass Band will be held In the Miners’ Hall, Runanga, to-morrow evening, after which a dance will be held. The tickets are 2s each.
The Grey County Council are inviting tenders for different works in the County, particulars of which may be obtained from the advertisement 'appearing on our first page.
A public meeting of the residents of Runanga and district will be held in the Miners’ Hall, Runanga next Sunday at 10 a.m. to receive the Committee’s report respecting the rates and to discuss the advisability of forming a borough. A grand ball to commemorate the Ngahere Cricket Club having won Dr. Hagen’s Cup will be held in the Ngahere schoolroom to-morrow night, when every provision will be made for a thoroughly good evening’s amusement. Good music and an excellent supper will be provided. Double tickets are 3s each. Messrs G. W. Moss and Co. will sell at his residence, Herbert Street, to-mor-row at 2.30 p.m. all Mr Dittman’s household furniture and effects, including nine dozen phonograph records, and _ a gent’s and lady’s bicycle. Mr Dittman is leaving for Queensland, therefore everything must be sold.
