WEST COAST RUGBY UNION.
At a general meeting of delegates to the West Coast Centre of the New Zealand Rugby Union, held at the Alb'iPii Hotel last night, there were present: Dr. McKay (in the chair), Messrs Dobson, Stenhouse, Millard, Walker, Williams, Brimble, Dunford, Wilsmi, MsTllan, J. Fraser, Colvin, ChapmaH, Dr Meßreatty, Sother.an, Harrison, Ogilvie, Eddy and A. Fraser It was resolved that the Kohinoor Club shall not be compelled to play mofe than one senior team. • . The Brunner Club wrote, stating that they were not able to nominate a sCfliot team for the -coming season,_ but would compete in the junior division. It was decided that the secretary communicate with Brunner, stating that they cannot be accepted as a junior team, and that they must communicate with Blackball to come within that club’s jurisdiction if they wish to compete ,as individual players in the junior competition. This is in accordance with the rules governing the district scheme.
The application of the United Club to compete in the seven-a-side tournament at Westport at Easter, and the appointment of Mr Colvin as manager for the tour was approved of. The Kohinoor colours (navy blue and cardinal) were registered. Messrs Eddy, Millard and A. Fraser were appointed to attend to the trenching of playing boundaries on the Bark. The Kohinoor Club’ were granted the use of the Union’s jerseys for their match with State Collieries on Saturday next. The framing of fixtures for_ the season was adjourned until next meeting. The Marlborough Union wrote, urging the necessity of impressing the New Zealand Union with the need of appointing a selector for South Island teams), from either the Marlborough, Nelson, Bullev, or West Coast' Unions, was deferred till next meeting. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
