TRIAL OF SENKOVITCH

SYDNEY, March, 21. The trial of the Russian Senkovitch for murdering his fellow countryman, Eismond, about the mouth of September last year, has opened. Eismond’s body was found sewn up in calico evidently portion of a tent, in the Murray River, while the prisoner later was arrested in Victoria with money which had belonged to the deceased, and lie confessed guilt when brought before a Magistrate in Melbourne. At the trial to-day, the accused pleaded “not guilty. “ The Russian Consul-General was officially present. The evidence was similar to that at the inquest.
