DOBSON STONE.

TO BE USED IN THE NEW COURT

HOUSE

The Hou A. R. Guinness has received the following reply to his .telegram, urging on the Government the expediency of using Dobson stone in the erection of the new Court house, Public Trust Office, etc., from the Minister of Public Works : ,

‘•Referring to your telegram of the 13th ultimo, in which you urge that Dobson stone should be specified for use in the proposed new Courthouse and Public Trust building at Greymouth, I have' the honor to inform you that I have consulted the Government Architect, who is preparing plans for both the buildings mentioned, and have arranged that Dobson stone will he specified for use in the base of the front portion of each of the projected buildings. I find that to carry out all the facings in stone would involve a considerable addition to the cost of the buildings, which I consider would hardly be warranted by the result attained. ’ ’
