PERSONAL NOTES.

Mr and Mrs David Ziman arrived in Greymouth from Wellington per s.s. Arahura this morning. Mr S. G. Crisp, representing Sharland and Co., will arrive in Greymouth on Thursday next.

Mr W. G. Gascoigne, manager of the State coal depots, will arrive in Greymouth in the course of the next few days. Mrs W. Edwards, of Otira, who arrived at Greymouth on Saturday, returned home by this afternoon’s train. Mr H. Fowler, Government Auditor, arrived in town per steamer Arahura this morning. He subsequently commenced the Borough audit.

The engagement is announced of Miss Myra Blackmore, youngest daughter of Mrs Blackmore, of Tainui Street, to Mr Adam Wilson, accountant of the Bank of few Zealand, Greymouth. Frederick John Hanlon, constable at ; Ikarito, has been appointed Registrar of ■ -ihs, Marriages and Deaths for the district of Okavito, vice Constable H. H. Hancox, deceased.

Mr Rupert Sproule nas been elected to fill the vacancy on the Westport Borough Counc.il. The voting was as follows: — R. Sproule 385, T. Samuel 216, J. Swain ! 16.
