GREYMOUTH NATIVE RESERVE

A WARNING NOTE

The following circular has been received by a number of residents in Greymouth and speaks for itself as a warning note to the lessees before indulging in making improvements to their properties : "It ha,s been decided that in future whenever a transfer, conveyance, lease, assignment of lease, agreement for sale and purchase or anv other document affecting the Public trustee's title to land is forwarded to the head office for signature, there shall be enclosed a completed i, •• i..j the Valuation Department, giving the required particulars of the transact ions on that Department's forms, which can be obtained from the lecal Valuation Department. This will necessitate the preparation of such notices by the Solicitor or other person entrusted with the preparation of the document, whose attention should always be called to this requirement, and no such document should be forwarded without this notice completed and this circular is to be brought under the notice of all staff officers 'and its receipt acknowledged. It is evidently 'the intention of the Public Trust Office to work the leases for all they are worth, and it implies that a yen- 'watchful eve is sjoinfr to be kept on every sign of improvement made on any of the ' leased properties. Greymouth people through their representatives, must also be watchful to protect their own interests.
