ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY
THE DEER SHOOTING SEASON'. A special meeting of the members of the Grey Acclimatisation Society was held in the Municipal Chambers last night to consider matters in connection with (lie furthcoming divr shooting season. It was reported thai deer were getting very plentiful on the hills at (he baqk" of Totara Kbit where they were thriving well and increasing in numbers. It was unanimously ngu-ed that the same regulations that wen in force last year should apply equally to the coming season and that they should be regazolted to bo enforced this season. The date lived for the opening of the seas..ii was Thursday March 24th. the day prior lo Good Friday, and that it remain open till Wednesday May 4th both days inclusive and thai the licenses empowering people ;,, . |i, nt them be procurable from the postmasters in !he r< sped ive dis| net-;.
