NORTH WESTLAND DISTRICT. The annual meeting of the above took place in the Oddfellows' Hall, Reefton, on Wednesday. There were present: l'rov. G.M., Bio. H. H. Lange (Westport), Prov. D.G.M. Tlios lvearns (Westport). l'rov. C.S. J. Steele (Reefton) and the following delegates: Bros. c. Long and D. Young (Blackball), Bra. J. Banks (Charleston), '■'■■'■ .1. Bryce (Mokihinui), M. The total amount of the sick and 'fnnc rat fund amounts to £12.131, which was considered very satisfactory. Notwithstanding the verv heavy sick bill, the funds had increased from £11.939. or by '292. The ,-iek pay and funeral don.v I thins dining the year disbursed amounts i ' >e ; ;ating £935. while, the members* j contributions during the same period | were £629. thus showing £3OB more paid out than received, and shows the necessitv of holding a good reserve fund to meet liabilities. The interest received for (he year amounts to £7BB. which was considered very satisfactory and reflects ixrcat i red it mi the Trustees.' the vaiious matters in connection with the Order were duly discussed and the question of forming the New Zealand l.ranch of the Cnity was deferred till next year. The meeting closed at A p.m. After the meeting the delegates, at the imitation of Mr IT. Castle. Secretary of tt." Consolidated Company. Reefton. were taken on a visit to the big battery and works, which was a revelation to ' many who hail not seen quartz-reduction works. In the evening the delegates anil officers we,v entertained by the Reefton Lodge at a hanonet at Stevenson's Hotel \.C. Bro. Xiehols ! Reefton r.odgel presiding, and !':■> dames Anld (Reefton) occupying the vice chair. The banquet was largely attended and the host and hostess. Mr and Mrs Staplcton. save an excellent repast. and recitations wore given, and (he usual to:i<ts weru given and responded to. the evening closing at 11 p.m. with the -1n..;.!- nf "Anld Lnjjg Svne" and "Cod Save the Kin-."
