LORD RUE. (By La Rue (Imp.)’ Dam, Kate.) LA RUE (109) is a handsome chestnut horse, standing 16| hands. He is beautifully mannered, perfectly sound, and has a public record of 2 min. 34 sec. for one mile. Lord Rue ran second at Plumpton, first at Ellesmere, 1 2 miles in 4 min. 16 sec, winning by 60 yards untrained, hirst at Plumpton, Christchurch, 1 mile in 2 min 42 sec. First at the Metropolitan Grand National Meeting, 1£ miles, in 4 min. 16 sec., on a heavy tiack. Lord Rue has also the credit of winning the first race in New Zealand for trotters only, 1 mile in 2 min. 39 sec., winning pulling up, also won the Ahaura Handicap, in the middle of the season, untrained, winning by 50 yards. Besides being a first class horse on the track, ho is also successful in the Show Ring. He was first at Christchurch ; first at Leeston; for two years, first at Waimate; first at Hokitika for Stallions and first in the 15 stone Hackney Class.
