A STRANGE DEATH.

AN OPEN VERDICT. [PEU PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, October 7. Frederick Charles Eilson, a middle-aged man, was accidentally killed at the Clinstchurch railway station tin's morning. It appears that Eilson was a passenger to Lyttelton hy the 7.20 train. Soon after the train started a shunter named Ainsworth noticed the second carriage give a jolt, and on looking for the cause he saw the body of a man lying on the line.
