Hinemoa, as follows: “Searched Solanders, Snares, Traps and islands off the west coast of Stewart Island. No sign of life or wreckage.” ' THE NOUN GURU ASHORE. WESTPORT,, This Day. The Chief Postmaster at Westport reports that the s.s. Ngunguru is stranded on the Karamea bar, and is still on the beach. There is no chance of getting her oil’, and it is now proposed to launch her over the spit into the river with jacks, etc. The vessel is full of water. The crew jettisoned the timber. It will be several weeks before she will he able to resume trips. The mails were recovered in good condition. TRAINING CRUISER ASHORE. [per press association,— copyright ] NEW YORK, September 24; —The United Stales training cruiser Yankee, is ashore at Buzzard’s Bay, Massachusetts, with several holes in her bottom.
