(To the Editor.) Sir.—ln -reply to "Old . Digger" I cnn inform him gold was iirst discovered by Mr Charles King in Coramandel in 1852. Gold was afterwards found in the Buller River in 1854, but by whom I d<-> not know. I left Tuapeka in March, 1862 for the Coramandel rush and arrived there in April The late Mayor Von Tomsk! and Thomas Murphy, prospector of King Cower, Victoria, were working ground near where Mr Charles Ring first found gold in Coramandel.
